We consider that the specific necessities of technical translations are essentially the following:
1. QUALITY AND TECHNICAL SPECIALIZATION
It is a sector in which the use of technical terms and expressions common to the type of documents is very important, that the whole document is translated without exception and that the meaning of the original text is reflected in the translation, turning words into ideas and ideas into words. We are conscious of this and, for that reason, quality is preferential for us. Our constant efforts have led us to get a rate of valid translations higher than 99% and this could be possible thanks to the following means:
- Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Standard and the quality standard for the provision of translation services UNE EN-15038:2006.
- Revision and quality control of 100% of the standard translations. Texts undergo 3 quality controls made by 3 different professionals: a first check, a revision and a final check.
- Creation of technical glossaries applicable to all of our translations in this speciality. Additionally, we create specific corporate technical glossaries for clients with particular tastes. Apart from all that, for translations that require very specific terminology or style, we prepare a technical glossary for each particular translation and a partial draft of the translation which are sent to the client before the delivery of the final version takes place, so that he may tell us whether he agrees with the terminology used.
- Use of computer-assisted translation tools and specific translation memories for technical translations.
- Recruitment of excellent technical translators, or which we take into account, apart from the fact that they must be native, they must be in possession of a degree in Engineering, work experience in technical jobs and experience in executing technical translations.
- Rigorous training in technical translation, giving great importance to research, documentation and use of appropriate technical terminology.
2. SPEED
Sometimes, technical translations must be done in the short term. For this reason, in 1 Global we offer an urgent translating service, with which we adapt to the period of time the client requires, whenever feasible. This is achieved thanks to having a team of more than 1.000 native translatorsboth internally and externally, and to our Project Management System.
3. PUNCTUALITY
We fulfil the compromise within the agreed period of time very rigorously, being our rate of punctual translations higher than 99%. This is achieved thanks to the responsible translators we work with and to our rigorous procedures.
4. LARGE TECHNICAL PROJECTS
Sometimes our clients need to translate large volumes, such as user’s guides. Thanks to having a large number of technical translators and to our Project Management System we can tackle large projects by forming well-coordinated translation teams and unifying terminology.
