INTERPRETERS

We work with conference professionals for simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreting.

LThe three different types of interpreting differ in:

1. Consecutive interpreting: the interpreter, situated next to the speakers, takes notes of the content of the intervention, which may stretch over several minutes, and then reproduces the speech very accurately.

This technique is ideal for meetings in which data is given and the accuracy of communication is important, with a maximum of 2 or 3 languages and a small number of participants, such as interviews, technical visits, diplomatic negotiations, business meetings or press conferences. It is also commonly used in protocol events, for instance during a toast, a state dinner or a speech. Likewise, it is also advisable when a conversation is between 3 or more people.

2. Liaison interpreting: it is similar to consecutive interpreting, but they differ in the fact that in this type note taking does not take place, so it is less precise. It is commonly used in business meetings between 2 people.

3. Simultaneous interpreting: the interpreter translates what the speaker says while he is speaking. It is commonly used in conferences. If the duration is more than 2 hours, 2 interpreters are needed since Law sets a maximum time of interpreting and a time to rest.

Simultaneous interpreting is the most appropriate one for meetings, conferences or seminars where several languages are used and where fluent and immediate communication is required, since the interpretation comes instantly to the participant.

While working in simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter, sitting in a soundproof booth in front of a microphone, listens through headphones to the speakers’ interventions and translates them into another language in real time for the delegates, who listen through the receptors.
